High Water Levels

High water levels in lakes and rivers leading to flooding can be seen all around the world. Stormwater systems are often unable to handle the excess water resulting in flooding of roads, residential areas and upstream areas in general.

Seasonal or storm related high water levels cause flooding

Rising water levels can be seasonal or storm related, for example snow melt and high rainfall. These events can lead to extensive flooding on a re-occurring basis and with today’s changing climate, repeat flooding events are more likely to happen.

By using a Wapro product flooding caused by high water levels can be effectively prevented. Rising waters are kept out of the stormwater and sewer networks with Wapro’s inline check valve, WaStop. Over-topping may still occur, but the majority of incidents can be contained with WaStop installed on the outfall from a stormwater system or in an upstream chamber.
