The problem

An industrial area in Åkersberga suffered from regular flooding due an overloading of the stormwater system. When stormwater ran un-checked into the nearby ditch the ditch overflowed and flooded the industrial area causing substantial damage on a regular basis.

Solution

WaReg® Flow Regulator

Åkersbergas Stormwater Division designed a retention pond two paralell WaReg to regulate the flow from the pond into the nearby ditch. By creating a retention pond the stormwater was able to be stored allowing for a maximum outflow of 50l/s. By restricting the flow to the ditch downstream flooding was resolved.
