WaBack Access saves home in Enskede from basement flooding
At the beginning of the summer of 2021, there were several heavy downpours that caused flooding in the Stockholm area, among other places. One of the most vulnerable areas was Enskedefältet, which is located behind the Globen in Stockholm. Due to the old and overloaded sewage network that has existed in the area since it was built in the 1930s, it has been affected by flooding several times before and it happened again this time. In some houses, 40 cm of water came up from the floor drains in less than half an hour.
The solution
To avoid going through the same renovation chaos again, Klas Skarin and his family decided to install a check valve. Of the various solutions available in the area, the Swedish service-friendly and powerful check valve WaBack Access felt like the only sensible solution according to Klas. WaBack Access DN110 is also the most dominant solution available in the area.
During the installation, the street sewage system, which consisted of cast iron pipes from 1931 when the house was built, was also replaced.
“The installation went quickly and the pit was slowly filled back with a rake and shovel in 10 hours. Now all that remains is cutting the riser pipe and the extension rod to the right length after the lawn has settled. Some neighbors actually choose to stay home when heavy rain is expected, but for our part, we have no worries about leaving the house regardless of the rainy weather. The check valve was a safe measure.”
