Safe shut-off when every second counts

In the event of accidents or spills from roads and industrial sites, contaminated water can quickly spread through stormwater systems and reach surface waters, receiving waters, pasture land and water sources. At pumping stations and other water and wastewater facilities, the ability to control and shut off water flow is also important for safe operation and maintenance.

With the right shut-off and control solution, water flows can be regulated, pipelines shut off and the spread of pollutants limited. Our WaGate Gate Valves and Sluice Gates enable both rapid shut-off in emergency situations and controlled shut-off of incoming pipelines, for example at pumping stations. This helps protect people, the environment and infrastructure while supporting safe and reliable operation.

Which solution is right for shut-off and control?

Different shut-off and flow control requirements call for different solutions. WaGate Gate valve is used for emergency shut-off at roads and industrial sites, where contaminated water must be stopped quickly to prevent it from reaching watercourses, grazing land and water sources. It is also used to shut off incoming pipes to pumping stations and other water and wastewater facilities for servicing and maintenance.

WaGate Sluice Gate is used to regulate and shut off water flows in stormwater and wastewater systems, treatment plants and pumping stations. It is suitable where water flow needs to be controlled or shut off in a reliable manner and can also be used for rapid shut-off in emergency situations.

    Klarälven is protected with WaGate

    The solution fell on our WaGate Sluice Gate SPM-P-TG. When the water gets too high in the Klarälven, the gate is closed and the water that flows to Torpnoret is pumped out into the river via a pumping station. With the help of a water meter that keeps track of the water level, they can shut off the water flow at a higher water level.

    Thanks to the sluice gates, there is no flooding in the nearby areas. And we thank, as usual, our customer in Karlstad and everyone involved for their good cooperation. We are always pleased when we can protect people and property.
