The Prison Service contacted Wapro with an inquiry about whether WaStop had previously been used to prevent noise, with the result that acoustic tests were carried out with successful results. A number of WaStops were then installed as a sound barrier to prevent inmates from communicating via the sewer pipes, while the toilet could be used as usual.
