    Blonville sur is protected using WaStop

    2 WaStop (DN600 and DN800) were installed on the beach, to ensure that our WaStop would fit with the rectangular outlets a custom solution was created as you can see in the pictures. WaStop is an ingenious solution for this application as the product is designed to prevent backflow which can occur due to for example tides. It also solves the customer's problem when the outlets fill with sand as the WaStop has a pulsating flow to prevent the accumulation of sand or debris. The WaStop also has high resistance to external factors such as waves and stones/gravel etc. It is also worth mentioning that, thanks to it having few moving parts, it works immediately for the customer and is almost maintenance free.

    Flood protection Warsaw

    It took about a month for the flood waters to recede and for people around the affected areas to return to their daily lives. However, the memory of the flood does not fade, and much of the damage was beyond repair. The flood was a rude awakening for a neglected water supply network.

    Along the river, there are many stormwater outlets that become backflow channels during conditions of above-normal water flow. The flooded river pushes the water up into the stormwater pipes that lead straight to suburbs and residential areas. Instead of stormwater being directed to the river, the opposite occurs, resulting in very costly and problematic flooding.

    The largest WaStop Non-Return Valve ever installed in Finland

    With the consulting engineering office contacting Wapro’s business partner in Finland, Ulefos Oy to find a solution, a teams meeting was setup with Wapro to discuss possible solutions. In the end, a customized WaStop DN1600 with bell-bolt installation was decided to be the best option for the application. With the bell-bolt option, the contractor could install WaStop above ground in the new DN1600 stainless-steel pipe instead of having to conduct the installation process of the valve at the outfall-site.

    The DN1600 stainless steel pipe with the WaStop pre-installed was then lowered in place to connect to the upstream inspection chamber with ease.

    The WaStop will ensure an effective evacuation of the stormwater with the lowest head loss amongst inline-check valves on the market and will help protect this beautiful area of Helsinki from flooding in the future.
