Case
Better management of firefighting water in Halmstad
The solution we have made is a DN1200 plastic well with a beveled angle and a built-in shut-off valve (SVM-TG DN110) so you can turn off the line and collect all the firefighting water in the well for easier clean-up.
The well is beveled (i.e. with a slope / fall down to the gutter where the water flows) which means that when you clean the well, for example, the water flows naturally down the gutter and out of the well. The project consisted of 4 wells where all had different angles on the inlet and outlet at the same time as they were to be beveled, the colleagues at Technical Support needed to make a special solution to match the angles and put the well together so that it solved the customer's needs.
We are, as usual, grateful to be able to help our customer in Halmstad with a unique solution that satisfies their needs but also contributes positively to the environment.
Case
Klarälven is protected with WaGate
The solution fell on our WaGate Sluice Gate SPM-P-TG. When the water gets too high in the Klarälven, the gate is closed and the water that flows to Torpnoret is pumped out into the river via a pumping station. With the help of a water meter that keeps track of the water level, they can shut off the water flow at a higher water level.
Thanks to the sluice gates, there is no flooding in the nearby areas. And we thank, as usual, our customer in Karlstad and everyone involved for their good cooperation. We are always pleased when we can protect people and property.
Case
WaGate sluice gates environmental installation in Plain Dealing, LA
Small towns can’t afford to make mistakes with the companies they work with or the equipment they install, so BAR Environmental chose corrosion-resistant WaGate SPK – TG 316 stainless steel sluice gates for an immediate solution and long-term durability.
As with many projects, a slight complication arose during the installation process when the old, brittle concrete in the clarifier did not immediately provide a good surface for the WaGate anchor bolts to attach properly. After a quick application of epoxy in the original anchor holes, the bolts were seated, and the installation of the sluice gates was completed.
Ultimately, both BAR Environmental and the friendly town of Plain Dealing were pleased with the ease and speed of the installation. Upon commissioning, the shop manager, in true small-town fashion, said, “This is great! Now I can focus on the next thing.”
