Solutions
Residential
Protect residential properties from backflow and flooding. With the right check valve, the risk of water from overloaded wastewater and stormwater systems entering the property can be reduced.
When water flows the wrong way, the damage can be extensive
During heavy rainfall or when wastewater and stormwater systems are under high pressure, pressure in the pipe network can increase and cause backflow. Water may then be forced back through the pipes and enter basements, for example, causing costly damage to buildings and property.
With the right check valve, water can flow in the intended direction under normal conditions while backflow is prevented. This provides automatic flood protection and reduces the risk of water damage in both houses and apartment buildings. The solutions can be used in both new and existing properties.
Which solution is right for protecting homes against flooding?
The choice of backflow protection depends primarily on whether stormwater or wastewater needs to be handled and where the protection will be installed.
WaStop Inline Check valve protects houses and apartment buildings against backflow in stormwater pipes. The flexible membrane opens to allow water to flow in the intended direction and closes automatically in the event of backflow. The check valve can be installed in both new and existing stormwater systems.
WaBack Non-return chamber is suitable for residential properties where wastewater may flow back through the pipe network, for example into basements and other low-lying spaces. Its normally open design allows free flow under normal conditions and closes automatically in the event of backflow.
