About the Role

Wapro Group is looking for a dynamic and entrepreneurial Managing Director (MD) to lead and grow our U.S. operations, Wapro Inc. As our first local MD, you will have full Profit and Loss (P/L) responsibility for expanding the business, driving sales, and shaping the future of Wapro in a fast-growing North American market.

About Wapro Group

Wapro Group, headquartered in Karlshamn, Sweden, specializes in flood protection and flow regulation within the Environmental and Aquaculture segments. The company has designed several unique products designed to safeguard water flows, prevent flooding, and ensure effective flow control.

Wapro Group consists of five companies in Sweden, U.S, Denmark, Germany and England. Production is in Karlshamn (Sweden) and Otterup (Denmark), where products are designed, manufactured, and marketed. Looking ahead, we see strong potential to also establish local sourcing/production in the United States, to strengthen our ability to serve the U.S. market and customers more directly.

Wapro Inc was established in year 2015 and today has a professional sales and customer service team of five in U.S. The Management of Wapro Inc has up till now been based in Sweden. We are now adding a Managing Director to focus exclusively on the U.S. market, to further the continuous growth of Wapro Inc.

Wapro’s primary customers are municipalities and publicly owned water utilities, served directly through subsidiaries in Sweden, the U.S., Denmark, the UK, and Germany, as well as through partners in more than 50 other countries.

Today, Wapro Group employs about 55 people. The team is highly engaged, and eager to grow with the business. What you’ll do

  • Build and grow our U.S. business by driving sales and market expansion.

  • Develop and execute a growth strategy in line with Wapro Group objectives.
  • Represent the company with customers, partners, and industry stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with U.S. laws and regulations while maintaining alignment with group standards.
  • Collaborate with a Swedish parent company and be the bridge between American and European/Swedish business cultures.
  • Prepare for and lead the establishment of U.S.-sourced production capabilities.
  • Full responsibility for Wapro Inc´s Profit and Loss (P/L)

 

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience in building and scaling business operations in the U.S.
  • Strong leadership track record with full P&L responsibility.
  • Leads with a no-ego attitude and a down-to-earth approach
  • Commercially driven, hands-on, and entrepreneurial.
  • Comfortable working with and reporting to a Swedish/European headquarters.
  • Culturally adaptable with strong communication skills.

 

Qualifications

  • Experience in business with public sector clients, including municipalities, cities, and state agencies.
  • Skilled in both individual sales and managing sales teams
  • Experience in in environmental technology, sewer and/or storm water management, or related industries is a strong advantage.
